This high quality battery grip allows you to double your camera’s battery life, allowing you to take more photos, or shoot longer lengths of video. It also makes vertical shooting more comfortable, by adding an additional “bump” to grip with the right hand. The grip is inserted into the battery compartment of your camera. In order to do this, the battery door must be unclipped and can be stored in the battery grip to avoid losing it. The securing screw then tightens to secure the grip into the tripod mount. Another tripod mounting thread is located on the base of the grip, so you will still be able to tripod mount your camera. The unit is supplied with 2 battery trays. The main battery tray has space for 2xLP-E8 batteries (the same batteries that come with the camera). It also has the correct electrical contacts to relay battery information to the camera body, unlike other lower quality models. The second tray holds 6xAA batteries, in case you run out of charge on the first tray.
